First, we updated our main bathroom by putting together an above toilet shelf unit, and purchasing a basket to hide things like our air freshener and extra toilet paper.
In the bathroom, we also ditched our nasty white in-shower selves that we bought at a yard sale, for a nicer set that matches the other shelves and is hopefully rust-resistant.
Our final, and my favorite, update was to the bedroom. We've been sleeping on a queen bed for the past year-and-a-half, which was a tight fit for the both of us. After relishing all of our out-of-town trips for the king bed we luxuriously got to enjoy, we finally broke down and bought our own.
The headboard is a Roma Tufted Wingback Headboard in Slate from everyone's favorite french store, Target. We purchased a Novaform Gel Memory Foam mattress and our king pillows (they have a great deal on sets of these) from our local Costco, and picked up the frame and boxspring from local stores. After searching for hours online, I ended up picking up our bedding from Home Goods (the actual duvet matches the gray and white patterned shams you see in the picture), and this weekend, I finally bought a simple white bedskirt from Kohls. So far, we are loving all the room we have, plus sleeping on a mattress that isn't 10-plus years old is helping us sleep better.
