Tour de Coast '14: Savannah

Here is the third and final segment of my Tour de Coast '14 recap. Final stop of the trip, Savannah.

Thursday morning we drove the last 1.5 hours up the coast to Savannah, Georgia. After checking into our hotel located right on the river (and also once of the most haunted in the city, and yes, "Hank" did visit us), we set out for lunch. The hubs found this great local spot, Goose Feathers, which was definitely delightful. After lunch, we explored local antique shops, the City Market and River Street.

That evening, we dined at the Cotton Exchange and I got to take my first ever carriage ride, which was a historic city tour.

Friday, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast at our hotel and then headed over to Tybee Beach where we spent the morning walking along the ocean, checking out local shops and touring the Marine Center where we got to see a baby loggerhead sea turtle!

That afternoon, we rested up in the hotel, and then got ready for dinner at the Kayak Kafe. After dinner, it was back to River Street to pick up a few goodies, including treats from River Street Sweets. Then, we picked up our boarding passes for a few hours of dancing under the stars aboard the Savannah River Queen.

Saturday morning, we made our final stop of the vacation at Forsyth Park, and we even found a local farmers' market, so we picked up a few things to take home.

After a 5.5 hour car ride, we finally made it home. One little girl was especially happy to see us (and to have the new collar we picked up for her in Savannah at The Grateful Hound).

All in all, even though the weather wasn't perfect, I would have to call this Tour de Coast a success!
